In support of our commitment to excellence, Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center sponsors an annual conference for child maltreatment professionals with an emphasis on furthering empirically-based, best practices among those who serve child abuse and child trauma victims.
The Charleston Child Trauma Conference, hosted by Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center, takes place October 19-22, 2020. Due to Covid-19, this year’s conference will be offered virtually.
The Conference will offer professionals in the field of child abuse and trauma the opportunity to bridge science and practice in order to better serve children and families. The Charleston Child Trauma Conference is the first of its kind on the East Coast as it bridges two worlds by sparking dialogue among front line professionals in the child maltreatment field and cutting edge researchers.

Each day our staff and partners leave their families to respond to another’s family crisis. During this pandemic, or any other crisis, that will not change.
We continue to see high priority cases for forensic interviews and have not yet seen a reduction in the volume of those cases.
Our individual, evidence-based mental health services and our family advocacy services will be offered through Telehealth solutions.
