The Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center is seeking qualified applicants to complete a 2-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in clinical psychology beginning in the Summer of 2018. Our center is a funded Community Treatment and Service Center of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, and the fellow will conduct mentored clinical work (20%) and research (80%) in the child maltreatment field. This position is an excellent opportunity for mentorship as a clinical scientist, engaging in clinically-relevant research at a nationally recognized Children’s Advocacy Center. Fellows with an interest in Mental Health Disparities research will be jointly affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry’s Mental Health Disparities and Diversity Program at the Medical University of South Carolina. Additional specialized training in best practices for treating sequelae of child trauma exposure is provided by national (i.e., TF-CBT, AF-CBT) and within agency (i.e., PCIT) trainers in these models. There is also the potential for networking and partnerships with national organizations, such as the NCTSN and National Children’s Alliance. Supervised experience toward licensure is part of this position. A doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology required, from an APA-accredited program, as well as completion of an APA-accredited internship.
